Airmar Technology has launched three NMEA 2000 smart sensors, the HT200 High-Precision Temperature, the DT800L Depth & Temperature and the ST850/800 Speed & Temperature devices.
The HT200 is ideal for use in sport and fisheries sectors. The DT800L will be used in ships having a thick hull and steep dead rise. The ST850/800 is targeted at the sailing segment. All the devices are available with the popular NMEA 2000 data format.
The HT200 immediately records changes of less than one degree in water temperatures, where such breaks cause concentration of fish used as bait. The 25mm bronze button visible on the sensor along with the thermistor refreshes temperature readings twice a second with ±0.125ºC accuracy. The collected information is relayed to a central networking system. The plastic, bronze or stainless steel encasing is suitable for all vessel types.
The DT800L comes with a broadband for ceramic element and urethane face depth readings down to 600ft and shallow-water readings. It has a paddlewheel that helps it to register readings at a maximum depth of 330ft. The device can be mounted with a plastic flange adaptor and tracks fish at speeds of 30knots. It operates at 235 kHz of frequency.
The encasing has a valve that minimizes the entry of water into the ship at the time of cleaning. All devices are available with a 20ft Turck cable and Devicenet connector to enable plug and play connectivity.
