Sony Ericsson showcased its r Exmor R camera sensor at the Mobile World Congress.
Sony's Xperia Arc
The sensor is deployed in its new products, the Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, and Xperia Pro, which were also debuted at the event.
The Xperia Play and Xperia Arc are all Android handsets, while also on display were various camera accessories like the LiveView. The product has been developed to be operable in low light or even in environments lacking light . This feature was demonstrated at the event recently.
The Exmor R has a tiny hole on its front panel, through which objects can be viewed and photographs captured. The quality and clarity of both the color and object were better than the result when viewed with the naked human eye. Also on display was a fourth camera, the Xperia Play, which is a gaming camera, and does not feature the Exmor R camera sensor.
