Sensors to Accelerate Expansion of Semiconductor Segment

According to a recent survey report published by RNCOS, a research organization, sensors will accelerate the expansion of the semiconductor segment in the future although circuit boards incorporated into systems still prevail.

The survey has anticipated that the annual growth rate of sensors and their applications in industries worldwide would be about 17%  over the next two years. The survey reported that industries will continue to deploy sensing devices on a larger scale, but advanced technologies would play a key role in this acceleration.

The report revealed that the automotive industry was a key participant, closely followed by the healthcare and consumer segments. It has been predicted that developing nations like India and China will begin to use sensing devices on a larger scale in future. By end-2013, the Asia Pacific region will use half the world’s semiconductors to enhance development.
