A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between QinetiQ and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Saudi Arabia to collaborate on a range of research and technology development programmes which could include autonomy, robotics, sensors, communications and remote sensing.
Under this MOU the collaboration aims to develop technology solutions to meet Saudi Arabia's needs in the twenty-first century.
KACST is both the Saudi Arabian national science agency and its national laboratory. The science agency’s function involves science and technology policy making, data collection, funding of external research, and services such as the patent office.
KACST, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is an independent scientific organization administratively reporting to the Prime Minister.
Alastair Bisset, Group International Director at QinetiQ said: "One of KACST's mandates is to foster international cooperation in science and technology and we hope this MoU will help them to achieve that objective. We look forward to working with our new partners to further develop their successful research and development activities, for the benefit of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
