Virtual Sensor Stations to Provide Weather Data for Building Modeling Platforms

Weather Analytics has declared that more than 600,000 Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) files are now available in multiple designs. The products will be applicable in premise modeling and simulation, location selection and energy analysis.

This development will increase the available data on localized weather and climate conditions. Each of the files incorporates hourly data reports gleaned by its virtual weather base station network over the past three decades. The Virtual Sensor Stations are located 35km apart throughout the world and deliver high-quality and accurate hourly weather reports. Premise modeling and simulation modules need to incorporate local weather and climate data into their analysis to present accurate and localized information. Normally, this analysis needs to input data at each site gathered over a 30 year period.

Every Virtual Sensor Station delivers constant and hourly weather reports gathered from 1/1/1979 through the existing conditions. The report also predicts weather and climate conditions at particular locations for the next seven-day period. Every one of the 600,000 VSS featuring the TMY file provides the data in TM2, EnergyPlus (EWP), CSV and .BIN formats to be used in modeling systems.
