Chlorophyll Sensor for Environmental and Industrial Applications

Precision Measurement Engineering, (PME), is a global designing and manufacturing company of oceanographic and limnologic instrumentation.

PME's T-Chain

The company has recently announced incorporation of the Turner Designs Cyclops-7 Chlorophyll sensor into its T-Chain, which is a multi-sensing system.

The design of the T-Chain, which is a temperature string, enables users to gather water column measurements that include temperature, dissolved oxygen, PAR and pressure. The module is deployed as a device to monitor and manage water quality. It collects periodic samples and stores them in a data logger. This data can optionally be tele-metered for further rapid analysis.

Future editions of this device will also detect blue green algae, rhodamine WT Dye, fluorescein dye and turbidity. The sensing devices are built by Turner Designs, a company that develops sensitive and user-friendly fluorometers for deployment in environmental and industrial applications. The sensing devices can be easily removed from the T-Chain platform to enable cleaning and maintenance and then replaced easily and quickly.
