Enablence Technologies, an optical telecommunications service and solution provider based in Canada, has released a range of photodiodes developed for high-speed signal conversion for 40 and 100 Gbps optical communication applications.
The high performance and high-speed solutions from Enablence include photodiodes with integrated lenses, balanced 25G photodiodes, an array of 10G avalanche photodiodes (APD) and short-wavelength 25G photodiode arrays for advanced optical transmission systems that support 40/100 Gbps applications.
Incoming optical signals are converted by the photodiodes into electrical signals for delivery of high integrity signals across metro, long-haul and access networks.
The balanced 25G photodiodes detect complex modulation formats used in 40 and 100 Gbps networks and provide high responsivity, low dark current, low bias voltage and a broader operating temperature range. The high-speed photodiodes with integrated lenses enable effortless optical coupling of light into photodiodes. This is a cost-effective process of chip assembly and lens design. The 10G APD arrays, with low excess noise, large optical aperture, low temperature dependence and greater gain-bandwidth at lower operating bias voltage, enable miniaturization of long-haul optical receivers.
Through wafer level integration of filters and lenses, Enablence offers datacom and telecom customers cost-effective solutions, which support 10 Gbps Ethernet, QSFP, 2.5 and 10 Gbps PON and HDMI.
