OMEGA Engineering, a global manufacturer of measurement devices, has released its new zSeries of wireless sensor system for refrigeration and critical HVAC applications. The system facilitates Web-based monitoring of barometric pressure, temperature and humidity.
The compact end devices can transmit to a “Coordinator” at a maximum distance of 91 m in an environment without any interference or obstructions. The Coordinator can be connected to the Internet and Ethernet network and complies with IEEE 802.15.4 operating at 2.4 GHz.
OMEGA has introduced a variety of end devices to suit different applications. The devices include both external and built-in sensor probes and are designed for harsh environments. The “Coordinators” have the capacity to support nearly 32 end devices. It can be password protected and can send and receive information in standard TCP/IP packets.
When variables go up or below a predefined set point, the device can trigger an alarm, which can be sent over by email to the PDA’s and Internet enabled cell phones, to a single user or a group.
The OMEGA zSeries system features the iServer technology and an Embedded Web Server. It does not require any special software and provides real time charts, readings of barometric pressure, temperature and humidity.
