ChemImage Awarded Patent for Optical Sensor that Detects Explosives

An optical sensor developed by ChemImage Corporation to detect explosive compounds was recently awarded a patent, the hundredth one for the company.

ChemImage’s Chief Technology Officer and Founder, Dr. Patrick Treado, informed that as a technological firm his company is able to safeguard its intellectual property significantly that helps in nurturing associations with market leaders round the world. The proprietary, new generation chemical imaging technology from ChemImage has the capability to detect biological and chemical information from a range of material systems.

For the last 16 years, the company invested considerable resources to develop a strong portfolio of patents. This includes patents created for the biomedical diagnostics, chemical imaging instrumentation, pharmaceutical analysis, forensics tools, threat detection, particle sizing, and image analysis fields.
