Dytran Instruments Unveils Lightweight Force Sensor for Modal and Structural Analysis

Dytran Instruments has launched the 1022V lightweight force sensor for low-mass dynamic measurements in modal analysis, dynamic force measurements and process control.

Dytran 1022V lightweight force sensor

The IEPE force sensor has built-in electronics that avoid the requirement for external converters and amplifiers. It weighs 4.2 g and measures 12.4 mm in length. The sensor has a titanium housing that has a 1.524 m coaxial cable, which terminates at a 10-32 coaxial connector. The sensor housing has 10-32 tapped holes at the top and bottom for mounting the sensor on the test specimen and the driving rods.

The quartz sensing element is packaged in the titanium housing and works in compression mode. The 1022V lightweight force sensor can measure up to 50 lbf with a 50 kHz unloaded natural frequency and a 100 mV/lbf sensitivity.
