Semiconductor company, IDS Microchip, has released an advanced SL900A RFID sensory tag chip that is suitable for supply and cold chain applications as well as construction, pharmaceutical and health and food industries.
The SL900A tag can be applied for process control in factory automation, remote supervision and metering, recording and controlling of medication, tracking history and dynamic shelf-life monitoring.
The single chip is based on the EPC Gen2 standard for supply chain purposes. It has the capability to non-invasively record, monitor, track and time-stamp sensory information of various factors including pressure, vibration, temperature and humidity.
IDS Microchip has commenced the shipment of production parts for the SL900A. The company offers the chip as DoW (dice on wafer) or 16-LD QFN (5x5 mm). IDS Microchip intends to demonstrate the RFID sensory tag chip at the Euro ID 2011 in Germany and at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2011 in Florida.
