Servomex has released Sulphur Resistant combustibles sensor upgrade kit for its SERVOTOUGH Fluegas combustion gas analyzer.
The latest sensor upgrade kit allows a Tfx sensor functioning at default temperature to operate at a higher temperature. This can significantly enhance the performance of the sensor in applications involving high amounts of Sulphur, since higher levels of SO2 can restrain the functionality of conventional catalytic sensor.
The combustibles sensor upgrade kit will enhance sensor durability and minimize service idle time where levels of SO2 normally surpass 1000 ppm. Current combustibles sensor has a functional life of less than 13 months, whereas the upgrade kit offers an extended operational life for the sensor.
The capability for the combustibles sensor to function at elevated temperatures makes it suitable for several operations in power production segment that uses coal or heavy oil as fuel. The combustibles sensor has been validated by the reputed sensor upgrade at Drax power station in UK, which utilizes SERVOTOUGH Fluegas analyzers, to uphold its top position in the UK's group of competent coal burning power stations.
The specifications for High Sensitivity sensor of Fluegas are suitable for applications such as light oils and natural gas, which involve low levels of sulphur. The combustibles sensor is ideal for all Fluegas models including 2700A1, 2700A2, 2700B1 and 2700C1. The upgrade kit can be availed for standard requirement sensor head versions. An upgrade kit for Div 2 and Zone 2 analyzers will be released in 2011.
