Lumex, a global optoelectronics company, has introduced a new range of infrared emitter and detector technologies, MicronSensIR.
The MicronSensIR series, consisting of one infrared emitter and three lead salt detector technologies, is ideal for multiple applications such as industrial safety, medical device technology, automotive and aviation, rail safety, underground and tunnel safety and environmental monitoring.
The lead sulfide and lead selenide detectors are offered in both single and multi-element formats. They provide a sensitivity of 1.5E10 Jones in 1 to 5.5 µ infrared spectrum.
Lumex offers single-channel detectors with lead selenide in cooled or ambient versions and TO-8 and TO-5 packages. These detectors are 3.5x1010 cm and Hz1/2 w-1 peak D and are available in a 2 mm square element size. The lead sulfide detectors are offered in 1-3 mm square element sizes in TO-8, TO-5 and TO-37 packages.
The four-color lead selenide sensor in the MicronSensIR has the capability to detect multiple gases in the 1.0-5.5 µm infrared region. The integrated detector assembly is suitable for portable instruments and contains a thermistor, cooler and 10dB gain amplifier. It provides 2.8x1010 cm Hz1/2 w-1 peak D across the 1-5.5 µ spectrum. The MicronSensIR has an ultra-speed infrared source that integrates a pulsable emitter with related drive electronics.
