Suprema unveiled the SFM 5000 Series fingerprint module with better speed and improved algorithm. The new fingerprint module is driven by powerful DSP (533 MHz DSP) and is used with a high precision optical sensor giving high quality images and a highly durable sensor surface.
The new module is all set to give 30%t faster enrolment and 20% faster identification time when compared to the SFM3000 series.
The algorithm used in the module is FIPS201 approved and compliant with ISO and ANSI standards. This algorithm produced outstanding results in the FVC and MINEX tests. Young S. Moon, the Vice President of Suprema, emphasised on the faster enrolment and verification speeds that the new module had to offer. These features in addition to low power consumption are sure to lure customers into incorporating the module in designing of various access control and time attendance devices ,which require a high amount of processing. He claimed that the module was capable of providing accurate results even with wet fingerprints.
Suprema is a global leader in providing biometric and identity management systems. They have a of a broad range of product right from live-scanners, fingerprint modules to e-passport readers. The SFM series fingerprint modules are a success story with over 1 million units shipped already to customers scattered all over the world. Top notch multi-national companies like Siemens, Fermax, Hitachi and Samsung make use of Suprema SFM series modules in designing their biometric devices.
