Since 2003, FreeFlight’s other product, the 1201 WAAS GPS receiver, is being utilized in Alaska for the FAA Capstone Program.

The FreeFlight Systems 1203 boasts a robust, lightweight build. The system has a remote-mount WAAS GPS feature that complies with TSO-C145 requirements. It provides time, velocity and position information and is suitable for applications of LNAV WAAS including ADS-B.

Prominent features of the receiver include fault exclusion and detection for navigational integrity. The twelve-channel receiver is less prone to disturbances such as jamming and comm radio interference.

According to Tim Taylor, President of FreeFlight, the company is honored to be chosen as a GNSS supplier by the FAA and the company always supported the ADS-B technology. Tim added that the company has always strived to produce cost-effective solutions in the airspace management sector.

According to Jamie Luster, Systems Director for Sales and Marketing of FreeFlight, the company’s systems have been easy to set up and operate.

Geared with the ARINC 429 capability, the 1203 WAAS GPS receiver is commercially available off-the-shelf and can be used with most commonly available transponders. The 1201 WAAS GPS receiver also comes equipped with the RS-232 interface facility.
