RF Code Launches New Wireless Air Pressure Sensor

A new Air Pressure Sensor (R160), devoid of any wires, was introduced by RF Code at the data Center World in Las Vegas. The sensor is an important device used at data centers that is used to measure the differential air pressure.

The air flow is optimized based on the value measured and provides a good idea of the thermal characteristics in a data center. The new air pressure sensor is being used in many organizations like an air transportation provider, IT vendor and even a financial organization.

Through the use of this sensor, operators are in a position to observe changes in air pressure and  come up with optimal cooling methods. The specification features of the sensor match that of a costly HVAC hand held pressure monitors and have an additional feature of automatic trouble shooting of air flow issues. The RF Code’s sensor manager software processes the measured data and provides trending, reporting and alerting capabilities. The Sensor Manager has been provided with a number ready to use integration modules, onto which other software platforms can be integrated easily.

In the data centers the hot-running equipment is cooled efficiently only when there is proper flow of cool air. The cost of the cooling system is determined by a host of factors that tend to affect the movement of air around the data center. High equipment density; how the data center has been laid out; CRAC failure; insufficient flow of cold air around rack banks, as well as obstructions below the raised floor are the determining factors for proper air flow.

Chris Gaskins, vice president of RF code feels that data Centers are often faced with energy and cooling issues, hence such innovative wire-free pressure sensors are welcome solutions to tackle such issues. He regards the new sensor as a simple, reasonable priced at the same time a novel way to address cooling issues. RF Code boasts of a whole range of wire-free environmental and power monitoring solutions, the latest addition to this line being the R160 air pressure sensor. The solutions that RF code offers are cost- effective and facilitate quick and easy monitoring of data.
