Aginova, a company that works on sensor technology and based at New Jersey, has introduced a new product called iCelsius, which is capable of turning an iPhone or an iPod touch or even an iPad into a digital thermometer.
To make this conversion, a temperature probe is used along with iPhones, and using an app downloaded from the App store, the read temperature is shown as graphs and alerts can be set as well. With iPhones and iPads being used everywhere and everyone; such add ons will make them even more useful.
In order to map the temperature to routine, everyday tasks minor upgrades to the iCelsius would be enough. The iCelsius is bound to change the way we look at the world that we are in. The iCelsius is capable of recording simple temperature data and providing a host of useful information on how to make best use of the recorded data. By measuring the temperature, the iCelsius is of great help in maintaining ideal conditions at home.
The temperature range that it can measure is -22 to 158° F, and it can measure with an accuracy of +/-1°. The stainless steel tip of the iCelsius makes it convenient to use in many applications such as checking the temperature of the baby’s feed, temperature of cooking ingredients like wine, tea etc. Usage is extremely simple as it has to be plugged onto the iPhone, download the software from the App Store and it is ready for use.
Aginova has plans of rolling out some more sensors for usage in cooking, baking, fry oil temperature measurement etc., which would be designed to suit apple devices. These sensors are capable of working at higher temperatures and have longer probes. With such releases they would soon be leaders in providing sensing technology for apple devices. They also plan to design level and humidity sensors that work on the same lines.
