On-Ramp Wireless declared the Smart Grid and infrastructure-monitoring equipment, known as the Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU), is now available in the market.
The RMU complies with FAA guidelines and can be used for automatic alarm warning and monitoring of line-power and solar-power hindrance warning lights in cellular and electric transmission towers.
The RMU unit is equipped with sophisticated features and operates consistently. It offers multiple functionalities including intrusion detection, uninterrupted operation with adjustable monitoring intervals, and a back-up battery for sustained alarm warning even under power failures. It can be used for quick monitoring of installed equipment on the Ultra-Link Processing (ULP) wireless system. The RMU is a versatile monitoring device and is capable of activating digital or analog sensors.
According to President and CEO of On-Ramp, Joaquin Silva, the RMU offers exceptional cost savings through various features such as notifying via text messages or e-mail, audit trail, and automated monitoring.
The monitoring device is environmentally certified and has been tested to function under extreme utility transmission conditions such as high power transmission lines and transmission substations with high EMI/EMF conditions.
