MEMSIC has launched an advanced wireless sensor platform, LOTUS, to improve the efficiency of its wireless sensor networking solutions and products.
The product is compatible with the company’s MTS and MDA range of sensors meant for data acquisition boards. The LOTUS runs at 10 uA in stand-by mode and at 50 mA on-state mode.
The wireless sensor platform is equipped with an 802.15.4 compliant radio that features an on-board antenna. It has 32Bit/100 MHz processor, 512 kB FLASH, 64 kB SRAM, 64 MB serial FLASH memory, and a USB Client featuring an on-board mini-B connector. The LOTUS has a stackable and modular design. The assembly incorporates connectors for expansion boards.
The LOTUS has been configured to use Real Time Operating System (RTOS). It is also compatible with TinyOS, RTOS, MEMSIC Kiel, IAR Systems, MoteRunner and Free RTOS. The wireless node platform comes integrated with the ARM7 Cortex M3 CPU and matches the demands of existing OEM and Imote2 customers. Applications that need GSM/GPRS gateways and high-speed processing can be supported using the wireless sensor platform.
