Razer rolls out the new gaming controller, named Razer Hydra, which is a product of the year long efforts of Razer and Sixense. The new controller comes with excellent accuracy that would interest those who take gaming seriously.
The base station, which is the main component of the Hydra, creates a magnetic field; this magnetic field is able to track the position along with the orientation of the handheld controllers that need to be tracked. The position tracking is accurate to the degree of a millimetre. By using the Hydra, gamers experience a flexible and precise mode of gaming due to the ultra-low latency that it offers. The Hydra is made up of two pieces that are connected to the base station with the help of a braided cable that does not get entangled. The pieces consist of an analogue stick, a trigger button and a bumper and four face buttons in addition to the magnetic sensors. Even though this controller does not have a wireless set up, it offers other advantages like being light-weight and being able to operate without batteries.
The Hydra is compatible with more than 125 games; the list includes Battlefield Bad Company 2, Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Resident Evil 5 and Valve's Portal 2. Razer has designed Hydra in such a way that it can support future titles in downloadable configurations and other games as well.
