Westwind Air Bearings Awards Hall Sensor Development Contract to Micromem Technologies

Micromem Technologies declared that its subsidiary,Micromem Applied Sensor Technologies (MAST),has been awarded a development contract by Westwind Air Bearings for the design and testing of the Hall Sensor.

The Hall sensor is a patented product from Micromem and is used in high-speed motor control applications. The project is expected to complete by July 2011. The factors that favoured the choice of the Hall sensor was its compact size, high stability of output over a broad range of speeds and its ability to work in noisy and disturbing environments.

Westwind Air Bearings is a world leader in the manufacture of air bearing spindles. The technology from Westwind finds numerous applications across industries like Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacture, processing of semiconductors etc. Notably, drilling spindles from Westwind dominate the PCB industry.

MAST is a fully owned U.S- based subsidiary of Micromem Technologies. MAST is involved in the development and deployment of solutions for industries such as natural resource explorations, health care, government and information technology.
