Surveillance Camera with Lightfinder Technology to Detect Objects in Low Light

Axis Communications has launched a fixed network camera using its Lightfinder Sensing technology.

AXIS Q1602/-E Network Camera

The highly sensitive Q1602/-E device can be used for both outdoor and indoor surveillance in poorly lit areas especially when users need to capture color videos, to recognize and identify objects better.

The Lightfinder technology is very sensitive to low light levels and allows the device to ‘see’ even in poorly lit environments. The device is able to focus both in natural daylight and infrared light. It offers enhanced scan image quality, in both well lit and poorly lit environments at D1 (720 X 560) resolution. This Lightfinder technology is advantageous in video surveillance applications such as in parking lots, construction sites, and to survey boundaries and cities. Its high light sensitivity helps minimize installation costs especially because the need for IR illuminators does not arise.

The indoor Q1602 and outdoor-ready Q1602-E provide single and multiple configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG multiple videos at the same time. It also features varifocal lens and remote back focus. It can be used through the night and day and supports two-way audio.

It can be mounted on a wall or a sunshield, and is immune to rain, snow, bright sunlight and dust. It can be operated from -40°C to 50°C.
