GridSense, an auxiliary of Acorn Energy, has announced that a remote communications module (CH-HS1) is available for the PowerMonic range of Disturbance and Power quality analyzers.
The PowerMonic range includes rough, all weather devices to monitor the power quality and power conditions at customer locations and substations. The portable power recorders provide consistent and dependable monitoring of low voltage circuits, harmonics analysis, load studies, study of power factor, voltage analysis and supports various functions.
Currently, industrial and utility users can employ the CH-HIS to access the information over long distances wirelessly from PowerMonic devices. The remote monitoring feature allows online checking of real-time information and the ability to monitor a large number of PowerMonics devices embedded over a wide area. The users can access the latest applications in semi-permanent and permanent systems for e.g. the monitoring of electromechanical relays, which have not been previously monitored.
The President of GridSense, Lindin Shiao has stated that the company has subjected the PowerMonic range of devices to several experiments and tests and proved it as a good quality analyzer suited for harsh environments over the years. The PowerMonic has been transformed from just a simple device to a smart online monitoring system using CH-HIS, to access the remote regions of the grid and is an addition to the company’s range of products, which deal with T&D grid optimization.
