The new NEX-C3 camera from Sony has an SLR sized sensor along with interchangeable lenses. The camera will also has a 16.2 megapixels APS-C image sensor and will be the smallest camera of its kind as per Sony. The NEX-C3 is also touted as being cheaper than existing D-SLRs.
According to Sony the NEX range of Sony cameras allows a beginner to deal with advanced photography with simple instructions and a user friendly interface. The NEX-C3 even substitutes technical terms like 'aperture', 'exposure value' and 'white balance' with 'background defocus', 'brightness' and 'colour'.
This allows the novice photographer to try his hand at the Photo Creativity interface without much fear. The 3 inch screen can also fold out on an arm. The NEX-C3 can shoot a 720p high definition video and allows you to capture a widespread 3D image using the Sony 3D Sweep Panorama.
The camera, which will hit the market in August this year, is set to replace the Sony NEX-3 which was taken off the market earlier this year. It is the same size and has an improved textured grip. The NEX-C3 also has a range of new picture effects like Retro Photo, Pop Colour and Toy Camera. It is sold in black or silver with a choice of a 16 mm 18-55mm lenses.
