RF Monolithics, a company specializing in M2M wireless technology, has added the LG2430E gateway and the SN2430R420 sensor modem to its portfolio of M2M Wireless Sensor Network Platform products.
The products can be customized and configured for RF technologies including ZigBee, Wi-Fi, FHSS and WirelessHART. They provide system integrators and application developers a range of RF and sensor capabilities in ready-to-install products.
The SN2430R420 sensor modem is an M2M peel and stick product. It is powered by battery and does not require data cables or mains power. It has sensor monitoring or data collection capabilities that are integrated with data transmission that occurs wirelessly. Sensor monitoring is integrated with 100 mW 802.15.4 radio technology that enables it to send data up to a range of 500 m to the LG2430E gateway that offers connection to the Internet or servers. Coupled with a switch closure input and a 4-20 mA input, the SN2430R420 product provides 2-4 wire RTD input. The sensor modem can be modified to accept various types of sensors including pressure sensors, humidity sensors, current transformers, and strain sensors.
The LG2430E gateway can store data when Internet or network connectivity is lost. It supports multiple protocols including Pachube, Amazon’s SimpleDB, Modbus/TCP and HTTP Posts.
RF Monolithics’ LG2430E gateway and SN2430R420 sensor modem were displayed at the Sensors Expo & Conference 2011 in Rosemont, Illinois.
