austriamicrosystems’ AS5410 3D Hall encoder has received the gold Sensors Magazine “Best of Sensors Expo” Award. The award was presented by Melanie Martella, who is the Sensors Executive Editor, on 7th of June, 2011 at the Sensors Expo & Conference, which was conducted in Rosemont at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
In total 12 bronze, silver and gold along with honorable mention awards were given under four categories namely Data Acquisition, Technologies, Sensor Components and Sensors. The judges for the competition were Martella and Lattice Semiconductor’s Ed Ramsden. New product nominations were submitted by exhibitors and the judges decided on the winners based on the availability, timeliness, distinctiveness, application and potential impact.
Martella commented that all the nominations showed great promise, integration, innovation and ease of use. At the Expo, austriamicrosystems had exhibited its range of high performance sensor interface ICs and sensors for automotive and industrial applications. The company’s proficiency in high accuracy and low power consumption oriented products delivers sophisticated products for the global automotive industry. ICs for automotive use include battery management, magnetic encoders, system basis chips and in-vehicle network solutions.
Bernd Gessner, who is the General Manager and Senior Vice President of austriamicrosystems, revealed that the company was greatly honored to receive this award, which was given mainly for the high degree of innovation offered by its unique AS5410 3D Hall sensor. This product was a core addition to the company’s existing magnetic encoder portfolio and continues its focus on the industrial and automotive markets.
