Hemisphere GPS has delivered its Crescent GPS technology along with components to a Brazilian firm, TechGeo which is the first company to produce geodetic GPS receivers.
TechGeo combined Hemisphere GPS’ Crescent GPS engine into a smart antenna product called Zenite. The compact GPS receiver integrates the Crescent GPS board with a GPS antenna, internal memory, battery, bluetooth communication and tilt sensors. Zenite’s unique features such as automated data recording make it easy to install and operate for land mapping and surveying applications.
According to Marcos Stenner, who works as General Director at TechGeo, the reliability and performance of the Crescent GPS complement the Zenite. He revealed that customers would welcome the unique package of portability, precision and ease of use for their positioning applications.
Hemisphere GPS’ Crescent GPS board with sales of over 100,000 boards offers sub-meter differential GPS measurements and positioning that could be processed to high-level accuracy. TechGeo provides packages with multiple Zenite receivers along with post-processing software for surveyors who establish survey points or create accurate maps.
Phil Gabriel, General Manager and Vice President of Precision Products at Hemisphere GPS, stated that the company is excited to work with TechGeo and their smart antenna product. Brazilian GPS clients appreciate TechGeo products and services and Hemisphere GPS is happy to be associated with TechGeo. He further revealed that the company is expecting a three-fold increase in Brazilian revenues in 2011.
