ESCORT Introduces Custom Installed Radar and Laser Detector

ESCORT has released a custom installed radar/laser detector called PASSPORT 8500ci Plus. The system features ESCORT’s Defender Database for speed camera and red light protection.

The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus is easy to install. It is developed for mounting behind the grill, while the display controller correctly positions in the car’s cockpit. A system can concurrently deliver radar/laser performance as well as protection when its components are physically separated into remotely installed modules.

Based on the PASSPORT 8500 series detector platform, the custom installed radar/laser detector offers long-range performance when compared to other modes of laser, radar and guns used today. In addition, the PASSPORT 8500ci Plus includes a GPS-based TrueLock technology designed by ESCORT to turn out false alerts by simply touching a button. The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus provides alerts to drivers through built-in location awareness technology.

John Larson, President and CEO of ESCORT, said that the PASSPORT 8500ci Plus is a custom installed system that contains industry leading radar/laser protection technology and built-in speed camera, red light and speed trap alerts.

The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus is equipped with AutoSensitivity for adjusting the radar performance automatically depending on driving speed; SpecDisplay for reporting the frequency of a threat source; and ExpertMeter for warning and displaying radar threats concurrently.

The custom installed radar system also features a Cruise Alert that allows users to manage the reduction of alerts in a set speed. A traffic signal rejection software suspends traffic-flow K band monitors. There are 11 user-selectable settings for personal use. The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus is compatible with Shifter Pack.
