Phoenix Controls has launched the Advanced Pressure Monitor II (APM2) with environmental control and BACnet communications features. The APM2 could validate room directional airflow and could be used in important ventilation applications such as chemotherapy preparations, vivarium research, bio-containment laboratories and in hospital operating rooms.
The product could be purchased from the company’s representatives worldwide. The APM2 is integrated with Phoenix Controls’ Traccel Venturi and Theris valve airflow control systems and offers temperature setpoint control, room pressure monitoring, humidity monitoring, occupancy control and air change rate monitoring on BACnet building networks.
Vineet Nargolwala, General Manager and President of Phoenix Controls, revealed that their customers would need a clear method for verifying the safety of pressurized spaces, and at the same time they need to control and monitor the environmental conditions. The BACnet version could combine all these functions in an easy-to-use and elegant touch screen package, which could be integrated into the building management system.
He further mentioned that such types of room displays are gaining importance with customers mainly because they ensure that the airflow systems would help to keep the room occupants safe and also save energy at the same time. The APM2, being a highly accurate pressure monitor, could meet the most stringent applications, which need the measurement of room pressure to 0.0001” WC resolution.
