VEGA Controls, a manufacturer of specialist level measurement instruments and controls, has introduced a new transmitting and receiving unit, PLICSMOBILE, which fits effortlessly into the company’s modular plics system.
The unit is being offered either as a standalone instrument PLICSMOBILE T61 or as an integrated module for the latest plics plus sensor generation. This could be powered using a standard signal cable either by battery or by other renewable energy source.
Both the integrated modem and the SIM card facilitate global data transmission through the GSM/GPRS mobile network, inclusive of dial in remote diagnosis and service with the help of the standard PACTware FDT/DTM software.
The PLICSMOBILE does not require modems or any other intermediate signal boxes and functions as a standalone device. It also eliminates cabling and the integrated energy system could manage the battery supply for the sensor and the emitting unit, which would be available from October 2011.
Thus, the PLICSMOBILE provides real flexibility and capability in deployment. It can be installed and can function independently using any VEGA technology, particularly in the Vendor Managed Inventory regions.
VEGA is now capable of covering any application in wireless communication, both local and global with options of HART, PLICSRADIO and PLICSMOBILE wireless compatibility.
