NICE Systems has announced that the San Antonio-based Level 1 Trauma Center and Army Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) located at Fort Sam Houston, is expanding the existing NICE security systems and upgrading the video surveillance functionalities with NiceVision Net 2.0.
The NICE video surveillance system was installed in the Brooke Army Medical Center in 2001. It will now be deployed in the medical center’s new facilities, which include an adjoining multi-level 5,000 capacity parking garage and a 7 story hospital wing. BAMC is renovating a facility where the surveillance system has already been installed.
The installation of NiceVision Net 2.0 IP video solution will allow BAMC to use the existing analog surveillance cameras along with IP video. Smart video capabilities, encoders, cameras and access control will result in improved video surveillance with a lower total cost of ownership.
NICE systems will also provide a License Plate Recognition (LPR) solution to BAMC. With an instant video recall feature, the LPR solution will capture high quality images of all vehicles and the associated license plates once they enter the parking structure.
The IP video solution provides BAMC the required tools to keep a check on crime and maintain security across all its facilities. Any attempt to violate a security protocol triggers an automatic alarm. The advanced IP video surveillance ensures safety of video recordings, which are critical for video retrieval requests for court cases and investigations.
