Blackline Unveils Javelin Covert Tracker for Professional Surveillance Market

Blackline GPS has commenced the delivery of the new Javelin Covert Tracker, which is a GPS tracking device used for loss prevention and professional surveillance markets in North America.

Normally software and hardware solutions come from two different companies, however Blackline’s technology products, developed by its internal R&D team, is totally different as they respond to specific customer needs with their highly customized solutions.

Cody Slater, Chairman and CEO of Blackline, revealed that the Javelin was created for police services and investigators. He further mentioned that the Javelin is a true professional grade covert tracker unlike other products, which are mostly modified consumer trackers. It includes features such as track-on-motion and device removal detection. According to him, the police forces normally pay more than $2000 for tracking products, while the Javelin’s price is less than $700.

Barry Moore, who is the Head of Research & Development, stated that the new platform’s modular firmware and hardware architecture allows the company to bring latest products to the market with decreased engineering timelines. He added that the Javelin would take care of all critical customer feedback such as dual neodymium magnets with 240 pounds of mounting force, a custom waterproof case, an Ultimate Sense 2GPS internal antenna, which comes with enhanced tracking of weak satellite signals, along with a massive 6000 mAh battery.

When compared to the present Entourage PS portable security product, the Javelin offers four times the battery capacity and when combined with advanced power management features it would allow users to select either the forceful three-week tracking profile or multi-month operations for applications, which were suitable for long term surveillance. Currently, as the initial production of Javelin had been oversold, the company is presently increasing the production capacity to meet the demand.

The Javelin would be exhibited by Blackline at the National Technical Investigators Association (NATIA) Trade Show, which is to be conducted from 16th to 22nd July in Tampa, Florida. NATIA consists of more than 3000 law enforcement and intelligence personnel, who would be providing the surveillance activities, technical operations and scientific support for several hundreds of state, federal, local law enforcement and other related agencies all over the US, UK and Canada.
