The TouchView-W, a BACnet-based communicating sensor controller, has been introduced by Trend Control Systems USA. It features an integrated wireless transceiver and a humidity sensor.
The wireless receiver is capable of communicating with different combinations of sensors for detection of windows and doors and occupancy and then directly reports to preloaded applications. This device includes numerous input and output (I/O) points, an intuitive interface along with 11 pre-programmed applications.
Gene Jarvi, the Product Marketing Manager at Trend, stated that the TouchView-W, with its I/O points, factory loaded applications and built in humidity sensor, would satisfy the needs of a building owner. Its easy-to-use and flexible features make it a perfect tool for customers who need cost effective and simple control of their environment.
The inclusion of the wireless receiver to the traditional TouchView controller reduces installation costs of the product, as multiple wire runs are not needed any more. The 11 pre-loaded applications shorten the programming and engineering time, while leading to extra energy savings. Commissioning times are reduced mainly due to decreased wiring requirements and programming needs, and thus it promotes cost savings for building owners.
The TouchView-W with its configurable controller is ideal for both common and specific jobs. Installation users who need an easy-to-use interface for controlling their environments such as offices, retail, restaurants, apartment homes , dormitories etc could make use of the TouchView-W, as each application supports Space Temperature setbacks and passive infrared. It could also handle simplified direct digital control systems for small buildings.
The TouchView-W could be installed either as a stand-alone solution or users could join multiple units of the TouchView-W to create a simple, centralized direct digital control system with Trend’s 963 Supervisor at the helm. It can operate and schedule independently and at the right time be brought online as one of the components of a BACnet communicating system.
The TouchView is being offered by authorized Trend Technology Centers.
