Garmin, a leading provider of athletic performance trainers, has designed the 305 GPS Receiver, an advanced version of its 205 series. It features the Active Metabolic Training from New Leaf.
It is a training program created to demonstrate to users on how to train in a smarter way. Along with the GPS and HRM utilities, the virtual trainer is also a major component of the unit.
Layman fitness users and professional health enthusiasts have supported the Forerunner 305 and promoted it as one of the most durable and reliable cardiovascular and GPS monitoring devices available in the market.
According to Dan Bartel, who is the Vice President of worldwide sales at Garmin, people do not need to guess if they are exercising long or hard enough. When users integrate the New Leaf Metabolic profile into the Forerunner 305, they would obtain a training program, which would be customized to their heart rate zones and also help them in attaining their fitness goals much more effectively and efficiently than regular exercise programs.
A wireless monitoring fitness device (ANT protocol) is also included, which records the speed, time, distance, heart rate and calories burned. This could also interface with the wireless foot pod device developed by Garmin for measuring cadence and speed.
The Forerunner 305 includes a high-sensitivity SiRF star III GPS receiver that keeps track of the users’ movements by locking on their geographic location around tall buildings or under the cover of trees.
The Forerunner 305 is a water resistant training tool, which monitors and records the distance grade, heading, pace and lap modes. It could also track the lap heart rate, average heart rate, heart rate and heart rate zones through its heart rate chest strap and thus offers a power packed package.
