Greenphire, a company specializing in the field of clinical payment and communication technology solutions, has introduced an advanced site payment solution that reorganizes and automates the clinical payment process for sponsors of different sizes.
The Clinical GPS system complies with the most recent Federal Physician Payment Sunshine Act, which would enable clients to make the necessary reports and disclosures with ease.
The Payment Sunshine Act would need sponsor companies to note down any physician payments above $10 in 2012 and report them on 31st March 2013. The payment details would be posted in a database beginning from 30th September 2013. If such information is not revealed, then it could result in considerable penalties and also damage the ongoing relationship of the company with healthcare providers. This would prove to be very challenging to those companies who do not have an efficient data capture process in their workplace. Technical solutions should be devised, tested and implemented much ahead of the imminent data collection date.
The Clinical GPS solution uses a validation engine, which could examine data and trigger payments to a recipient on the basis of the customizable terms in a contract. The system could be integrated with CTMS, IVRS and EDC and other clinical computer systems for automating the triggering of payments to investigators, sites and vendors, who are involved in a clinical study. If all the payment activity is centralized via a technology driven system, the unit would be able to provide meticulous reporting at the vendor, investigator and site levels for either a single study or a number of studies. Sponsors can benefit from the system, which also helps to achieve a speedy and efficient payment process to CROs.
The CEO of Greenphire, Samuel Whitaker stated that Greenphire is the only company that provides a centralized reporting and auditing device for clinical trial payments.
