Cambridge Pixel, a firm which develops processing, acquisition, display and primary radar solutions has entered into an accord with Navtech Radar, a producer and designer of low cost and reliable millimeter wave radar sensors and devices.
As per the agreement, Cambridge Pixel would supply its SPx radar tracking and display software, which would be used in several specialist surveillance and security radar applications, such as perimeter security, situation awareness, airport surface movement and highway monitoring.
Navtech Radar’s engineers working at their headquarters in Oxfordshire in England had required an open and extremely flexible radar display and tracking solution based on software as a replacement to their existing system, so that they could focus on improvements in the functioning of their commercial millimeter radar sensing solutions and particularly in the user interface of its ClearWay and AdvanceGuard products.
The target tracking software would be configured for tracking and detecting a series of potential targets such as trains, aircrafts, personnel and vehicles and receive video from the Navtech radars. The tracker would give track reports as output, containing data such as statistics, heading, speed and filtered position which would then be sent to a custom control application over a network interface. Tracks could also be displayed on closed circuit TV for security applications.
According to Richard Warren, who is the Director of Software in Cambridge Pixel, the company was thrilled to partner Navtech, which is associated with many firsts and provide them the company’s ever evolving customized software solutions.
