3e Technologies International (3eTI) has launched a new wireless platform called EnergyGuard, which has been developed to provide extra precise systems control over energy consumption management.
This platform is based on a real-time monitoring and control system, which has greatly decreased the consumption of energy in many military and government deployments. 3eTI, which is an Ultra Electronics company, has in recent times incorporated the NiagaraAX Framework developed by Tridium into the EnergyGuard system, and now this system is capable of supporting commercial, military and government uses.
This platform utilizes 3eTI’s widely used wireless sensor networking technology, which would allow the energy managers to make a complete analysis at either the campus or building levels from a central position to safely monitor, optimize and control the use of energy. According to Benga Erinle, who is the President of 3eTI, Commercial and federal systems managers have to comply with rigorous directives for reducing costs and energy consumption. He has stated that this platform would help to make their facilities and bases green, and make them leaders in sustainable energy consumption and management.
A very significant issue is addressed by EnergyGuard, which is how to ensure efficient and effective energy usage in their systems without having to resort to replacing the complete heritage building automation systems. This platform is also used to set-up a network of plug and play sensors, which are connected through a wireless mesh technology developed by 3eTI. This network monitors highly complex campus and building environments. EnergyGuard also provides superior reliability and also acts as a central base, gathering data from a campus or building, controlling and monitoring assets such as DDC, SCADA, and HVAC systems through a safe IP network. This platform thus eliminates manual checking and if and when a problem is spotted via the centralized location, the issue could be sorted out by sending technicians to solve the problem. 3eTI is planning to showcase its products at the Ultra Electronics, booth #1430 from 23rd to 25th August at LandWarNet 2011 in Tampa.
