Universal Detection Technology (UNDT), a firm which develops and provides early-monitoring systems, has stated that it has been awarded a purchase order for radiation detection devices from a prominent telecommunications company.
They have shipped most of the equipments which include isotope identifiers and personal dosimeters for observing meters, and the rest would be sent before the completion of the third quarter of 2011.
UNDT’s products that include dosimetry systems which quantify cumulative radiation exposure; surface monitors which help to detect water and food contamination and on surfaces; isotope identifiers which help to sense the presence of an isotope and also identify it; and advanced survey meters, still continue receive considerable orders.
In Japan, recently there was a lot of concern over the safety of meat available, as the beef had come from cattle which had eaten straw contaminated by radiation. The authorities were still trying to impede the spread of contamination. According to Jacques Tizabi, who is the CEO and Chairman of UNDT, the Fukushima catastrophe was the cause of the spread of the contamination. He stated that they intend to deliver their products and assist the Japanese people. Customers who were purchasing their products for the first time and were wishful to donate to the Red Cross via their website would get the benefit of discounts on all the radiation detection systems.
UNDT develops monitoring systems for detection of threats from nuclear, radiological (CBRN), biological and chemical devices. Its focus is on homeland security.
