A new patent titled “Game System, Controller Device And Game Method” (United States Patent Application 20110190052) filed by Nintendo for the Wii U controller shows a magnetic sensor and flash memory capabilities.
The proposed device comes with a plethora of tools making it one of the most sophisticated gaming consoles possible. The patent was filed on February 2, 2011 in the United States and was published on August 4, 2011.
The Wii U controller has a screen, a camera, an accelerometer and flash memory besides the magnetic sensor that can be used to detect body motion in the absence of a camera. The developers working on the system have said that the hardware plans for the new controller have not yet been finalized.
The super loaded Wii U controller will not be available in the market till 2012 and as of now no one has a clue to what it will cost, but it will definitely be one of the most looked forward to gadgets on the market.
The patent lists the confirmed features of the Wii U controller, such as its touch screen, accelerometer, gyroscope, analogue stick, buttons, microphone and camera which experts in the field have been expecting. It also introduces a magnetic sensor which has not been mentioned by the company in any former descriptions of the controller.
