Malvern Instruments has added more applications for its multi-detector platform Viscotek Triple Detector Array (TDA), which is meant for gel permeation/size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC), by including a novel viscometer to the setup.
Generally, the efficiency of GPC/SEC analysis is increased by the TDA by means of measuring absolute molecular size, molecular weight as well as intrinsic viscosity in a simultaneous manner. The novel viscometer combines a sophisticated 316 stainless steel transducer structure with unrivalled sensitivity to offer accurate structural information and intrinsic viscosity for a wide variety of biomolecules, synthetic and natural polymers.
The viscometer’s digital inert transducer provides a quick, sensitive response to any changes in viscosity. The stainless steel structure is highly resistant to chemicals, which makes it ideal for protein analysis. Moreover, the usage of capillaries that are inert in the flow path can be beneficial for various biomolecule applications.
Malvern Instruments also offers PDA and/or UV detectors for additional detection capabilities. These products are ideal for composition analysis for conjugated and/or copolymers proteins.
