Swizerland-based, ForaCare Suisse in St. Gallen has declared the launch of a novel, smart, Bluetooth-enabled single-unit devices to monitor both blood pressure and blood glucose.
The Comfort Pro GD 40 can be used by medical experts and another, Duo Ultima D 40 b is commercially available. The Institute for Diabetes Technology (IDT) has approved both the devices as having high-precision.
Germany-based, IDT has approved Comfort Pro GD 40 and the European Society of Hypertension-international protocol 2010 has approved the Duo Ultima D 40 b.
The innovative device, Duo Ultima D 40 b, helps self-monitoring of conditions by patients to self-monitor to control them better.
The Duo Ultima D40b is enabled by Blue tooth and doctors can use it to measure in an adjoining room to ensure that unmasked or white coat blood pressure is prevented. The special inflation method is very convenient for patients when BP is determined since inflation instead of deflation mode is used in this device. The blood glucose and BP meter has an in-built read-out function that enables easy monitoring and helps the patient to note each reading clearly. The device features a large display and buttons and long lifetime batteries and is particularly appropriate for use in telemedicine studies and for remote health monitoring.
The Comfort Pro GD 40 is cost-effective and caters to a broad range of patients who include children, newborns, adolescents, teens, geriatrics and adults. The device enables precise measurement without the need of a distinct temperature range. This blood sugar monitoring device is compact and can be used both for out-patients and by the patient’s bedside in the hospital. It is possible to read the display even in dim light due to its back-light feature that has big white numbers. It also has an in-built strip ejection function to easilyy remove diabetes strips.
