A design data and hardware configuration management solutions developer, Cliosoft announced that the SOS Design Collaboration platform was used by a semiconductor and analog IP design service provider, Moortec Semiconductor for version control, data management and tapeout of Moortec’s embedded crystal oscillator and temperature sensor for use in 28 nm, 40 nm and 65 nm TSMC processes.
ClioSoft provides a tool suite to developers in an effort to improve productivity of the hardware design team along with reducing the configuration errors and increasing the efficiency of the design.
The temperature sensor IP blocks designed by Moortec using standard logic processes can be represented instantly across systems-on-chips for temperature profiling. The interoperable process design kits from TSMC along with custom design Synopsys solution were used to tape out the IP blocks on TSMC’s 28HP and 40LP processes. During its development, the custom design solution offered by Synopsys was used to complete the IP design. The SOS viaCustomDesigner solution from ClioSoft integrated the custom designer tool and provided version control and data management to streamline the design process. This was achieved by improving communication and allowing the efficient sharing of the design data.
Moortec Semiconductor’s MD, Stephen Crosher stated that on-chip temperature monitoring systems are a vital component for optimizing the performance and increasing the IC’s longevity. Crosher added that using ClioSoft’s solution for data management along with Synopsys’ custom design solution in the development of the IP blocks ensured the required performance and productivity at lower geometries.
The Chief Executive Officer of ClioSoft, Srinath Anantharaman stated that thedesign teams are greatly benefitted with the integration of leading design flows, which allows them to share IP and design data swiftly.
