Location Based Technologies, developer of personal locator devices has launched the GPS based personal locator and vehicle locator. The PocketFinder People and the PocketFinder Vehicle are currently available for purchase in Canada and the United States.
The PocketFinder Vehicle can be fixed onto recreational vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet skis and boats among other powered vehicles. The device pinpoints both the location and the speed at which the vehicle is travelling, which helps parents track the driving activities of their teenage children. The compact device also allows the authorities to retrieve a stolen or lost vehicle.
The easy to use, portable GPS Personal Locator can be easily carried in a backpack, purse or a pocket. It provides real-time data on the user’s whereabouts and the data can be accessed anywhere using the online services. The rechargeable GPS device has been designed keeping elderly seniors and children in mind.
An online GPS Mapping Application allows users to customize the application by assigning zones that would send alerts if a family member is within the zone or leaves the zone. The application specifies the exact location of the GPS locators on the map. Additionally, users can set a speed alert that sends a notification via SMS text, email and push notification when the vehicle exceeds speed limits. An online PocketFinder User Interface and an App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch are also available.
The Chief Executive Officer of Location Based Technologies, Dave Morse stated that by selling the GPS devices through the Apple stores, it reinforces the company’s focus on service and quality.
