A vibratory and magnetic technology developer headquartered in Erie, Eriez has announced that the E-Z Tec DSP Metal Detector has cleared the Stage I qualification test criteria of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The technology has been approved by the TSA for use in the screening of non-metallic commodities present in the air cargo environment.
The comprehensive evaluation of the E-Z Tec DSP included the functional and physical configurations along with a detection performance. After clearing the test, the technical review panel added the device to the Air Cargo Screening Technology List.
The Product Manager – Metal Detection of Eriez, John Klinge stated that using the E-Z Tec DSP detector offers a reliable, efficient and guaranteed screening of any specified cargo. It ensures that the cargo keeps moving safely and quickly.
The metal detector integrates digital signal processing technology with a 4-in. x 5-in. touch-screen interface to provide a comprehensive analysis and report for chemicals, pharmaceuticals, rubber, food products, packaging and plastics. E-Z Tec DSP also features a high level of sensitivity required for processing solid, liquid or bulk materials. Users can view line items instantly, thus making the monitoring and operation a hassle-free process. The value and numeric data are visible on the calculator-type interface, which eliminates the need of time-consuming scroll to sort through long lists. The E-Z Tec DSP metal detector offers multi-language capability whereby users can select up to two secondary languages apart from English, which is set as the primary language of the device.
