Sensor and sensor-based systems designer and manufacturer, Measurement Specialties has announced that it has bought Celesco Transducer Products, which specialises in designing and manufacturing rotary encoders and cable extension transducers.
Measurement Specialties bought Celesco Transducer Products from Tedea Technological Automation and Development in a transaction that was completed on September 30.
Measurement Specialties has bought Celesco’s capital stock for a total amount of $35 million. This acquisition is expected to increase the annual sales of Measurement Specialties to $15 million. According to the CEO of the company, Frank Guidone, Celesco’s expertise in the areas of cable extension string pots, medical, test and measurement markets, will give Measurement Specialties the competitive edge over other products.
Measurement Specialties manufactures sensors and systems based on sensors to measure specific characteristics such as position, force, humidity, vibration, pressure, photo optics, temperature. In order to build these sensors the company uses various latest technologies such as foil strain gauges, force balance systems, electromagnetic displacement sensors, silicon sensors, piezo resistive silicon sensors, fluid capacitive devices , ultrasonic sensors, mechanical resonators, submersible hydrostatic level sensors, optical sensors, and thermal coefficient ceramic sensors. Celesco Transducer Products design and manufacture various types of rotary and linear measurement transducers, which are considered as the standard for accurate measurement of position.
