A China-based optical and digital network equipment manufacturer, ZST Digital Networks has announced that the company has signed an agreement with the Zhumadian Road Transportation Department. As per the terms of the agreement, ZST Digital will design and implement a GPS tracking platform for the commercial vehicles in the city.
The GPS-based platform uses the company’s commercial GPS tracking technology and is capable of linking all registered vehicles to the transportation departments across the province and the nation. Furthermore, ZST Digital will also support and provide maintenance of the GPS platform.
Once the project is complete, all commercial fleet operators in Zhumadian will need to register their vehicles on the GPS based platform. The operators will be able to choose the GPS equipment and the service providers for the GPS units. However, the Zhumadian Road Transport Department will designate ZST Digital as the “preferred vendor”. ZST Digital will also be responsible for employee training, installation and hardware cost and initial platform design. The company will receive service and maintenance fees from commercial enterprises that choose ZST Digital as the GPS services provider.
The GPS based platform is likely to be completed in first quarter of 2012. The total investment of the project has been projected at approximately RMB1.5 million. Once complete, the agreement could possibly generate RMB58 million as revenue in the first year.
