California-based PNI Sensor will be launching the first STORM-qualified, digital magnetic compass the TargetPoint DMC 600 made and technically supported in America.
The TargetPoint DMC 600 has a high accuracy of 0.05° and weighs less than 20 g. Furthermore, at 10 Hz, it consumes a low power of just 225 mW. The TargetPoint DMC 600 combines a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer and measurement circuitry with PNI Sensor’s patented Reference Magnetic Sensors leading to a high performance solution. Its low weight and small form factor makes the TargetPoint DMC an ideal solution for systems that require threat detection, neutralization and situational awareness. Another benefit of the TargetPoint DMC arises from its local production and domestic technical support.
The TargetPoint DMC 600 was originally designed for the Small Tactical Optical Rile Mounted micro-Laser Range Finder for the US Army. Now the DMC is also available independently to enable convenient integration into laser- based targeting and range-finding systems.
Agencies associated with the US Department of Defense required cost effective and specialized equipment such as the DMC 600 to be supplied to the deployed soldiers, thus increasing first-shot success probability in portable systems. Field-tested by soldiers, the TargetPoint DMC 600 has been extensively tested in order to meet military standards.
