North American electronic components distributor Digi-Key has expanded its product offering with the addition of the HumidIcon digital temperature / humidity sensors developed by Honeywell.

Honeywell’s HumidIcon sensors provide a digital output and have the capability of measuring temperature and relative humidity in a single unit. The sensor makes use of a thermoset polymer, laser trimmed, capacitive sensing element that provides protection from most application hazards. The sensor provides temperature compensated, true digital I2C output.
The key benefits of the HumidIcon sensors includes the capability of optimizing system uptime and also offers a sensor interchangeability feature that allows the user to remove a first sensor from the tape, then a second sensor from the tape without impacting the accuracy of the system. Each sensor does not require individual calibration or testing, an advantage that simplifies the manufacturing process and reduces manufacturing time.
