Garmin, the GPS-based device manufacturer headquartered in Kansas, has introduced the FR70 heart rate monitor watch with more features than its precursor, the FR60.
The FR70 has been developed with sensory devices to provide the user with speed and distance while running or cycling. The improvements over the previous mode are a longer lasting wrist strap and a more desirable form factor. The button functionality has also been improved, thus enabling precise key presses.
The FR70 heart rate monitor watch wirelessly connects to a heart rate monitor and includes a soft chest strap. It displays the calories burned by the user in real time and has been designed as water resistant to a depth of 50 m. It features wireless ANT+ technology and can connect to ANT+ compatible devices such as the food pod or the heart rate monitor. It can also be used with optional cadence and speed sensor to gain instant access to pace and distance covered.
The Garmin watch can also be used to keep a close eye on health as it can be used to track body water, body fat, weight and other vital measurements using the body composition scale, the Tanita BC-1000. The Garmin FR70 watch is ideal for gym users, and for users who run or cycle. The FR70 incorporates a pace alert as well. All FR70 users can access the Garmin Connect using a free account and can track their workout results online since the FR70 can automatically transfer the workout data wirelessly.
