Tensilica declares that a multimedia IC design company, Skyviia, had chosen Tensilica’s HiFi audio DSP core for the design of multimedia system-on-chip (SOC).
The Tensilica's HiFi Audio DSP, a famous audio DSP core, is approved by many OEM’s and leading semiconductor companies. The HiFi audio DSP solution comprises about eighty audio encoders, decoders and software packages for audio enhancement processing.
Larry Przywara, multimedia marketing’s Senior Director of Tensilica, said that the Skyviia is a supplier of multimedia for application in portable multimedia devices and in the android platform. Przywara also said that Tensilica is expecting to overlook the pioneer designs from Skyviia, which will be used in Tensilica’s HiFi audio processors.
The HiFi audio DSP core is a division of an emerging line of dataplane processors (DPU) of Tensilica, which perform tough, intensive computing tasks in SOC designs. It can be used in variety of applications from low-power MP3 players and mobile phones to high definition television, set-top box, home entertainment devices and Blu-ray disc recorders.
Brian Sung, Executive Vice President of Skyviia, said that the company had selected the HiFi audio DSP solution as it offers increased speed and performance and consumes less power. Sung also stated that the company is overwhelmed with the massive audio codecs library existing for this design.
